The New 3g Network

3G is a collection of technologies — including EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, and HSUPA — that promise to bring high-speed data services to mobile workforces via their cell phones.

Progress toward ubiquitous 3G coverage is being made, but competition from rival technologies (such as Wimax) continue to complicate the market. Many users have rushed to purchase 3G smart phones and handsets, and roaming between carriers, such as Verizon and Cingular, continues to be a concern.

Still, 3G holds enormous promise for users to always be on the cellular network without the security worries of them being signed on to a wireless hotspot.

Check in at the 3G Resource Center for the latest analysis, product announcements, and reviews about 3G services and technologies.
